About ME
I was born Nobubele Francisca Nkomo (I know that's quite a mouthful for most people) to a beautiful couple somewhere in the heart of sub - Saharan Africa. My name was later shortened to 'Nobsy' by a few of my close friends and I've gone by that ever since. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth and don't consider myself to be insanely talented, but I'm definitely passionate, resilient and willing to stop at nothing to achieve my dreams. My mantra is "dream it, live it" - no stopping!

GROWING UP...
During my teen years right up to my early twenties, I went through a devastating phase of obesity and my self-esteem took a very big knock. My weight slowed me down not only physically but in every aspect of my life. I put my dreams on the back burner, withdrew socially and just about gave up on myself, until I realized on one summer morning that I had the power within me to completely change my life. So I climbed out of bed, rolled up my sleeves and got cracking. It took nearly a year of hard work but I successfully lost close to 50 lbs (25 kg) and haven't looked back ever since.
VARSITY...
And then came varsity... I had initially applied to study Journalism and Media Studies, but by some strange twist of fate ended up in the Library and Information Science class. I can't tell you how many times I tried to 'escape' but just never succeeded. Eventually I decided to make the most of the experience, learn as much as I could and use the lemons life had thrown at me to made lemonade. And oh, how amazing it's been! The lesson? Sometimes what looks like a detour in our road to success turns out to be the best thing that's ever happened to us. I'm here today to share the high and low-lights of my journey and to help you achieve your dreams... one step at a time.
